How to decorate with vintage art

Can you believe that Fall is right around the corner? Hard to even think about it when temperatures are above 100 already. Good thing is we have great air conditioning and we keep it blowing all day for long, leisurely shopping experiences…

Welcome Our New Vendors

New vendors joining us this month are Ashley Norris and Prince Zapata! Both have a huge following at local vintage markets and on social media. Ashley is known for her vintage finds at @venushomeco and @venusthreadsco. Prince specializes in vintage denim, art, and oddities at @odd.fellow.

Find their space at the end of the first aisle when you walk in!

How to Decorate with Vintage Art in 3 Easy Steps

This could also be called “How to decorate with only 3 items” or any other title about simplifying the decorating process.

Each item should be from 3 different periods in time. The greater the distance between periods the better. It’s about the mix of items and not matching them. For example, an ancient Roman artifact paired with an Art Deco lamp on a glossy new piece of furniture is far more interesting to look at than 3 items from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. One spans thousands of years and the other is a stuffy time capsule. We like to group items from 3 easy-to-remember time periods: Something from the 1800s, something from the 1900s, and something from the 2000s. Or simply: something antique, something vintage, and something new. This gives the appearance of looking organically curated over time versus looking like set from a period film.
