It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through the year now with summer upon us. It feels like we just packed Christmas away. Like always, we’ve been busy at the store bringing new items in and redesigning floor displays. Here’s a quick update of what’s been going on…
New In The Shop
One of the biggest changes you may have noticed in the shop is the complete redesign of the back area into a conceptual space where we’ll experiment with different design ideas and trends over time. Currently we are blending antiquity, mid-century modern, and contemporary art!
NEW VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
The latest vendor to join our family is the infamous Dennis George Crow with his antique textiles, vintage art, and repurposed bow ties. Dennis spent many years in Pasadena and now splits his time between Palm Springs and doing shows all the way up to San Francisco. His beautifully framed antique photography in the shop is not to be missed!
Dani Hahn | The Color of Roses Book Signing August 3 | 4-6PM
We are excited for our book signing reception to coincide with the Whizin center’s First Thursday events each month. The signing will be with Dani Hahn from Rose Story Farm in Carpinteria and her new book, The Color of Roses. The book has been a hit with our customers and was just featured on Good Morning America and Martha Stewart’s TV show.
Check out our new warehouse…
We are planning a Summer/Fall event at our new warehouse to showcase antiques that haven’t made it to the shop yet, as well as make room for all the holiday displays before the shop transforms into a winter wonderland. You’ll be able to shop the same way you do at the store and see curated items from all your favorite dealers at the shop. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the event!
Big shout out and congrats to the previous owners, Maria and Dave Bartolet, who’ve made the move to Oregon now to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and future great-grandchildren. We wish them the best on their next chapter!
